Own Source Resource (OSR)
Own Source Resources refer to the revenue generated by local bodies through their own means, such as taxes, fees and charges. The tax receipts of gram panchayats include income from property tax, collection of fees and cess, water charge, licence fee, Trade licence fee for shopkeepers and others. These resources are vital for the autonomy and sustainability of local governance. Strengthening OSR enables Gram Panchayats and Urban Local Bodies to implement development projects independently, cater to the needs of their communities and reduce dependency on external funding. Effective management and enhancement of OSR are crucial for building resilient and self-reliant local institutions.
Our latest initiative, A Car Wash facility, has been proudly built through Own Source Resources (OSR). This project stands as a testament to our commitment to self-reliance and sustainable development. By utilizing local resources, we've created a valuable asset that will generate revenue and support future community projects.
